Will Work for Hugs!

Words aren’t necessary with this posting. This was the highlight of my weekend in Minnesota where I worked with Lands’ End to promote their million dollar giveaway to schools.
I met hundreds of creative children and dozens of families. I feel so lucky.
Until next week,
Sharon

Dear Sharon,

Congratulations! I can understand the feeling as I have felt when having volunteered in our local elementary school, teaching the children art. Seeing their joy in their eyes always made my day.

Warmest regards,
Egmont

I just found your blog. What a nice post. I love(d) your store in Cambria. Do you not own it anymore? One time when I was there I was telling my husband how I was scared of bees. You were working in the gardens (this was many years ago) and you said something like, "Don't be silly. They have a very important job to do and they are good for us." It had a big impact on me. I now treasure bees thank to you!

Ouch, our flight from Minneapolis to Phoenix went smoothly, but they were overbooked on the Phoenix to San Luis Obispo. Just as I started dreaming about sleeping in my own room and hearing the pattering of the sweet rain, well, here I am.

Sweet Bee Cottage, I am THRILLED that you are now so involved with bees that is the name of your cottage. It makes me so happy.

I sold Heart's Ease when I started writing and illustrating full time. That was in 1997 and my good friend Susan bought it and had a great time with it for 8 years. She became very ill and sold it at which time the woman who bought it also bought the property.

You can't run a garden shop, travel, write, take care of your own garden, and live in Maine when you have a business. Down Side???? I don't get to meet people like you unless they come to a talk or a book reading.

Sending joys to you and...bee sweet.

Sharon

Hi Sharon~~ What a precious photo! Kids are the best. I bet they absolutely loved your presentation. Did you have the snake in the bag?

Dear friends,

I WANT to answer each of you individually, but I can't when I am traveling. I LOVE all of your messages.

Thanks so much,

Sharon

Doesn't time just stand still when a child hugs you? My own child (now 14 and taller than me) is usually 'too cool for school' now that she's a freshman in high school, but every couple of days she'll come up to me and say "I'm having a hug-mergency", meaning we need to drop everything and hug for awhile. My heart just melts.

Then, she's back to rolling her eyes at me and throwing her clothes all over her room....
